About Us
We support users and their knives. In today's world, there are many convenient tools like food cutters, peelers, and kitchen scissors for cutting ingredients. Pre-cut ingredients are also available at supermarkets and convenience stores. As a result, using knives has become less common.
However, knives do more than just cut; they can enhance flavors, improve mouthfeel, and make dishes tastier by altering cutting techniques. A dull or incorrect knife can ruin the taste and texture of ingredients, or even cause injuries. Using the right knife increases cooking satisfaction and safety, enriching people's food experiences.
Whether you shop with us online or visit one of our stores, we're here to help you find the perfect knives for your unique needs.
Tosa craftsmen create knives using traditional techniques unaffected by modernization. They famously don't use molds. They use free forging — hammering and shaping heated metal into superior knives. Handling the entire process allows for great flexibility.
We currently operate four knife stores in Japan.
In 2019, the first store opened in Asakusa, Tokyo, on “Kappabashi Dougu Street”.
In 2021, the second store opened in Namba, Osaka in “Doguya-suji Shopping Arcade”.
Both stores are located in a long-established shopping district that attracts chefs and restaurant owners from all over Japan and the world.
The area is packed with stores specializing in knives and other cookery equipment retailers, and the place has also become very popular with foreign tourists.
In 2023, the third store opened in Chatan-cho Okinawa, “the American Village”.
In 2024, the fourth store opened in “Heiwa-dori arcade” on Kokusai-dori.
American Village is a very unique tourist area for shopping and entertainment, modeled after the atmosphere of the United States.
The Kokusai Street in Naha is a bustling area lined with approximately 460 stores, including souvenir shops, general stores, and restaurants, which attracts most of the tourists who come and visit Okinawa.
